Health Care Training Programs Bolster Health Systems Internationally
A software company founded in 2016, Pricecheck Inc. allows people to purchase goods from various stores through a secure mobile app, helping them save time and effort. To support physical distancing measures amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Pricecheck Inc. joined the Strengthening Regional Field Epidemiology Training Program Networks.
The Field Epidemiology Training Programs were created to facilitate efficient and evidence-based responses to disease outbreaks and health threats worldwide by training a global community of field epidemiologists. The Centers for Disease Control launched the Strengthening Regional Field Epidemiology Training Program Networks as a way to build public health workforces and prepare them to survey, detect, and respond to infectious disease outbreaks internationally.
In order to achieve its goal of preventing infectious disease outbreaks from spreading, the Strengthening Regional Field Epidemiology Training Program intends to develop or reinforce networks for field epidemiology training programs across large regions. The existence of networks for these programs bolsters efforts to train health care personnel while providing public health systems to local communities. The effort also allows each individual program to communicate across geographic expanses and work toward shared goals of containing and treating diseases that could potentially escalate and become problems elsewhere.
